20th Analysdagarna (Analytical Days)

11 June 2012 to 13 June 2012
Venue:
Uppsala, Sweden

The conference will be held at Uppsala Biomedical Center, Uppsala University, in Uppsala, Sweden, starting at lunchtime on Monday 11 June and closing late in the afternoon on Wednesday 13 June.

An essential part of the symposium is to acknowledge a scientist that has reached achievements of great importance for the science of analytical chemistry by awarding a prize—The Torbern Bergman Medal. The 2012 Medalist  is Professor Richard Zare, Stanford University, USA.

In addition to the scientific and social events the congress also presents an instrument exhibition at which about 50 exhibitors will show the latest news on instrumentation and accessories for quantitative and qualitative analysis.

Special emphasis is made for the opportunities to personal meetings with colleagues, old and new friends at poster sessions and at attractive social arrangements: a traditional wine and beer evening combined with the opening of the exhibition, a congress dinner with excellent food and entertainment.

Analysdagarna is arranged biannualy and is the largest and most comprehensive congress and exposition on laboratory science and instrumentation in Sweden. The congress offers a “smörgåsbord” of analytical techniques and methods through lectures given by internationally recognised experts, by skillful Ph.D. students as well as experts on innovative new instrumentations and accessories. The scientific programme this year comprises a broad variety of themes such as water analysis, vibrational spectrometry, advances in separation science, mass spectrometry, sample preparation, process analysis and quantitative NMR. The matrices studied for analysis vary widely like water, plants, pharmaceutical products, animal brains etc.

This means that Analysdagarna not only is of interest for professional analytical chemists but also for all laboratory personnel that identifies, quantifies, analyses or tests the chemical or biological properties of compounds or molecules, and also for those who are the manager of laboratory scientists of this kind.
